Canadian low-cost carrier Flair Airlines announced that it plans to increase its capacity by 50% in the summer of 2023. The airline expects to add seven new aircraft, bringing the total number of airplanes in operation to 27, by the middle of next year.
This fleet increase will allow for an initial schedule that will include frequency increases on 41 of its routes during next year’s summer season. Already 4.2 million seats are available through the airline’s various official sales channels.
«We are looking ahead to another busy summer next year and we have increased our capacity significantly to keep up with increased demand», said Garth Lund, CCO of Flair Airlines. «Welcoming an additional seven aircraft into our fleet allows us to increase frequencies on our most travelled routes, giving passengers more options», he added.
According to a company press release, the new aircraft will create about 350 new ground and flight crew jobs at all of its bases in Canada.
