Air Canada strengthens international operation for 2023 summer

Air Canada expands its international operations for the northern summer of 2023 with the launch of new European routes and the resumption of several transpacific services, in addition to increasing frequencies to key destinations in the Atlantic and South American regions.

The Canadian airline is adding new services in Montreal (YYZ) to Toulouse (TLS) and Copenhagen (CPH), offering more travel options to southeastern France and Scandinavia. In Toronto (YYZ) it will add a new route to Brussels (BRU), the main hub of its Joint Venture partner Brussels Airlines.

In the transpacific market, Air Canada will resume services to Toronto (YYZ) – Tokyo/Haneda (HND) and Vancouver (YVR) – Osaka/Kansai (KIX), the latter was operated in the 2019 summer season. Recently, Japan reopened its borders to international travelers.

The Canadian carrier will also increase its operations in key destinations such as Dubai (DXB), Frankfurt (FRA), Tokyo (NRT/HND) and London/Heathrow (LHR) where its key codeshare, Joint Venture and Star Alliance partners are located.

“We continue our disciplined approach to expanding our global network in response to anticipated demand. We are especially pleased to add three strategic new routes to Europe, resume important services to Japan and increase frequencies to key international destinations by summer 2023 “, said Mark Galardo, Air Canada’s senior vice president of network planning and revenue management.

In preparing its summer schedule for next summer, Air Canada continues to work with government agencies and other partners in the airline industry’s ongoing recovery from the effects of the COVID-19 crisis.
