As from November 9, Satena will have a new international connection with a route between Bogotá (BOG) and Caracas (CCS). This operation will be under charter mode, authorized by Aerocivil. The state-owned airline will be the first Colombian airline to fly to Venezuela.
Colombia is currently on the list of countries authorized by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) for regular passenger, cargo and mail flights to Venezuela. The last air connection between both nations was on March 31, 2020, these services were suspended due to the pandemic.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aerocivil statistics, 160,237 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between Bogota (BOG) and Caracas (CCS). The Colombian capital was Venezuela’s main South American market prior to the pandemic, where up to three air operators operated.
Satena and Turpial Airlines will be the first airlines to resume air operations between Venezuela and Colombia, with more airlines gradually joining the market.

This service will last approximately two hours and five minutes and will be operated in Embraer ERJ-145 aircraft with a capacity of fifty seats. Promotional fares are available starting at USD 340 each way and can be purchased from the company’s website.
Eleven days ago, Colombia’s Aerocivil had informed that Avianca, Laser, Turpial, Avior, Wingo and LATAM had been authorized to operate between the two countries.
