Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) is expanding its North American offering with a new service between Copenhagen (CPH) and New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK). This service will complement its operations from the Scandinavian capital to Newark (EWR), expanding its presence in the New York metropolitan area.
The company will offer 1,570 seats per week on this route and will compete with Delta in this segment for next summer. The U.S. carrier offers daily flights between JFK and the Danish capital on Boeing 767 aircraft.
During the winter season, SAS will offer daily flights to Newark (EWR) and five weekly flights to New York (JFK), the Scandinavian carrier will operate out of Terminal 7 at John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK).

For the start of the 2023 summer season, the company will resume the second daily flight to Newark (EWR) from Copenhagen (CPH), offering a total of three daily flights to the New York metropolitan area, will be SAS‘ largest offering in this market compared to 2019 levels.
Passenger demand to the U.S. continues to grow and to meet demand SAS will offer up to nearly 130 weekly flights on 12 routes across 8 destinations between the U.S. and Scandinavian capitals this winter

- Copenhagen – New York Flight SK 919 CPH 18:25 – JFK 21:30 Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
- New York – Copenhagen Flight SK 920 JFK 23:00 – CPH 13:45+1 Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Airbus A321LR aircraft with 157 seats in three classes (22 Business Class/12 Premium Economy/123 Economy) and promotional fares starting at USD 187 one way in Economy.
Summer season
- Copenhagen – New York Flight SK 919 CPH 18:25 – JFK 21:30 daily flights.
- New York – Copenhagen Flight SK 920 JFK 23:55 – CPH 13:45+1 daily flights.
From March 26 the service increases in capacity with the introduction of the Airbus A330-300 with a capacity of 266 seats in three classes (32 Business Class/56 Premium Economy/178 Economy). During the summer season, SAS increases its seat offer to JFK by more than 130%.
