This Sunday (27) Plus Ultra resumed its flights between Tenerife – North (TFN) and Caracas (CCS), this service will be the only non-stop route between the Canary Islands and South America. The company’s last operation on this service was on March 22, 2022.
Flight PU 711 was operated in Airbus A340-300 registered with the registration EC-NBU and christened «Virgen del Valle», which took off from Tenerife North International Airport – City of La Laguna (TFN) at 10:59 local time and landed at Simon Bolivar International Airport (CCS) at 14:01, after seven hours and two minutes.
Spain is currently one of the countries authorized by the National Institute of Civil Aeronautics (INAC) for regular passenger, cargo and mail flights in Venezuelan territory.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through Aena Estadísticas, 16,959 passengers and 53.3 tons of cargo were mobilized in 2019 between Tenerife – Norte (TFN) and Caracas (CCS). Plus Ultra provides the only long-haul service between the Canary Islands during the northern winter season.
Flight Itinerary
- Tenerife North – Caracas Flight PU 711 TFN 10:45 – CCS 14:20 Sunday.
- Caracas – Tenerife Norte Flight PU 712 CCS 20:55 – TFN 08:15+1 Saturday.
The route will be operated on Airbus A340-300 and Airbus A330-200 aircraft with 275 and 299 seats respectively and promotional fares are available from EUR 688 one way.
Plus Ultra is currently the largest airline operator in the Spain – Venezuela segment, where it has a 35.9% market share and offers 2,870 seats per week. In addition to its services to Tenerife – North (TFN), the company also offers a route between Madrid (MAD) and Caracas (CCS) with four flights a week.
According to data obtained by the Canary Islands Institute of Statistics, there are 52,689 citizens with Venezuelan nationality on the Island of Tenerife, of which 11,876 reside in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, its capital. Plus Ultra’s service between TFN and Caracas (CCS) is mainly oriented to leisure and VFR (visiting friends and/or family) passengers.
