Lufthansa set to fly to London – Gatwick

Lufthansa will offer non-stop flights between Frankfurt (FRA) and London – Gatwick (LGW) for the 2023 summer season. With this new service, the airline will be operating at three airports in the metropolitan area of the British capital, complementing its operations from Heathrow Airport (LHR) and London – City (LCY).

According to data compiled by Aviacionline through UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) 2,090,717 passengers were mobilized in 2019 between London and Frankfurt.

«We are delighted to welcome Lufthansa back to Gatwick Airport next year, providing passengers from London and the Southeast with a vital connection to Frankfurt,» said Stewart Wingate, chief executive of Gatwick Airport.

«The city is not only a very important financial center but offers excellent opportunities and connectivity going forward. It’s also a wonderful place for tourists, with fantastic museums and architecture,» Wingate added.

Flight schedule

The new services will start from April 23, 2023.

Frankfurt (FRA) – London/Gatwick (LGW)
  • Flight LH 1520 FRA 09:15 – LGW 09:50 daily flights.
  • Flight LH 1522 FRA 16:15 – LGW 17:25 daily flights.
London/Gatwick (LGW) – Frankfurt (FRA)
  • Flight LH 1521 LGW 10:50 – FRA 13:20 daily flights.
  • Flight LH 1523 LGW 18:10 – FRA 20:40 daily flights.

Both services will be operated on Airbus A320 aircraft with a capacity of 168 passengers and promotional fares are available from USD 97. The company will offer 4,704 seats per week on this route.

With Lufthansa’s new operation to Gatwick (LGW), passengers from South London will be able to connect to financial centers such as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai, as well as other destinations in South America, Asia and Africa.
