NetJets, the world’s leading aircraft charter company, will become the launch customer for the Bombardier Global 8000 after placing a firm order for four aircraft, the Canadian manufacturer said in a press release.
Based on this year’s list prices, the order is valued at 312 million dollars. In addition, the operator asked for the conversion of eight previous orders and expects to have a fleet of up to 24 Bombardier Global 8000s.

The new Bombardier Global 8000
Bombardier unveiled its new business jet at EBACE 2022, which was held in May in Geneva, Switzerland.
According to the manufacturer, it has a range of up to 8.000 nautical miles (14.816 kilometres). It can reach a maximum speed of Mach 0.94 (more than 1.100 kilometres per hour), a record among currently operational civilian aircraft.
The Global 8000’s wing design, known as Smooth Flĕx, provides flexibility and agility at different speeds and in different flight conditions to optimise operation and improve on-board perception.
In addition, Bombardier highlighted the aircraft’s cabin features, which is equipped with the proprietary Pũr Air system and advanced HEPA filter technology. In addition, the new model features the Soleil lighting system, also available on the Global 7500. This helps to reduce the impact of time zone changes and lessen the effect of jet lag.
The manufacturer also highlighted the aircraft’s pressurisation system. In this regard, it claimed to offer the «lowest cabin altitude» on the market. As an example, it specified that the Global 8000’s cabin characteristics allow the aircraft to experience the feeling of being at an altitude of 2,900 feet when the aircraft is flying at 41,000 feet, a typical cruising level.
The aircraft can be configured with a quadruple space division, each equipped with ergonomically designed seats to maximise the available space. This design includes a master suite with a fully-flat bed and a shower. The seats, called Nuage, are the first in the industry to feature a zero-gravity position to enhance passenger comfort and relaxation.
The aircraft’s development programme is on schedule, according to reports. Bombardier expects the Global 8000 to enter service in 2025.
