Ethiopian Airlines is expanding its North American network with a new service to Atlanta (ATL), the carrier’s fifth destination in the United States. The carrier will be the only African carrier to operate out of Hartsfield – Jackson International Airport (ATL).

The carrier will have 20,600 seats per week on offer between North America and Africa in May, an increase of 65% compared to pre-pandemic levels. The airline is the largest carrier in terms of seats per seat kilometers (ASK) in this market and is the African carrier offering the most destinations in the United States.
Flight schedule
From May 16, 2023.
- Addis Ababa – Dublin Flight ET 518 ATL 22:00 – DUB 04:20+1 Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.
- Dublin – Atlanta Flight ET 518 DUB 05:10 – ATL 09:00 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Atlanta – Addis Ababa Flight ET 519 ATL 10:35 – ADD 07:50 Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 311 passengers in two classes (28 Business Class/283 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 679 one way.
Ethiopian Airlines operates more than 130 international passenger and cargo destinations, in North America the company offers service to Washington – Dulles (IAD), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Newark (EWR), New York (JFK), Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) and soon to be added Atlanta (ATL).

Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for this summer season will be connected to Addis Ababa, Cape Town (CPT), Johannesburg (JNB) and Lagos (LOS) making it the fourth North American airport with the most African destinations, behind only Washington – Dulles (IAD), New York (JFK) and Montreal (YUL).
