JetBlue today announced the launch of seven new routes, including to airports in Mexico and the Caribbean, from New York, Boston and Los Angeles. In a press release, the airline said its partnership with American Airlines in the Northeast Alliance (NEA) will facilitate the opening of the new services, which are already out for sale.
In this way, the company will expand its network of connections from its two main hubs in the Northeast United States. Moreover, it will advance its growth plan at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX): with the inauguration of flights to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, JetBlue will offer flights to a total of twenty non-stop destinations from the country’s second most populous city.
«The Northeast Alliance continues to provide us with new opportunities to unlock even more growth potential in New York and Boston, with added benefits for customers across our network as we introduce new flying in markets where for too long travelers have had little or no competition», said Dave Clark, the airline’s Head of Revenue and Planning.
With the launch of the new routes, and as part of the partnership, JetBlue expects to offer more than 500 daily departures from the three commercial airports serving the New York City area (John F. Kennedy, LaGuardia and Newark), as well as nearly 200 daily departures from Boston-Logan International Airport (BOS).
