On February 7, Porter Airlines began its non-stop flights between Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR): for the first time in its 16-year history, the company lands on the west coast of Canada.
Flight PD 305 was operated on an Embraer E195-E2 registered C-GKQJ, which took off from Lester Pearson International Airport (YYZ) at 10:49 a.m. and landed at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) at 12:49 p.m., after five hours.

«Today’s flights between Toronto Pearson and Vancouver are the first opportunity for passengers to experience what Porter offers the economy traveler,» said Michael Deluce, president and chief executive officer of Porter Airlines.
«This is an unprecedented level of service for North American airlines. It will appeal to business and leisure travelers who appreciate a high level of service at a reasonable price,» Deluce added.
Porter will initially offer one daily flight between Toronto (YYZ) and Vancouver (YVR), then from February 14 the service will increase to two daily operations and by March 22 will increase again to three daily flights. The company will offer 5,544 seats per week on this route for the northern summer season.

- Flight PD 318 YVR 22:55 – YYZ 06:27+1 daily flights.

This service further strengthens our connectivity while providing our travelers with greater flexibility and choice,» said Mike McNaney, vice president and director of external affairs for the Vancouver Airport Authority.
Porter will have more new routes from Toronto – Pearson (YYZ) including non-stop services to Edmonton (Feb. 14), Calgary (Feb. 22) and Halifax (Feb. 23). The airline expects to announce its first international operations soon, with the Embraer E195-E2s the company can expand its network to key markets in the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.
