South Africa: British Airways and Airlink begin codeshare agreement

British Airways will begin a codeshare partnership with Airlink, strengthening connectivity from the UK, Europe and North America to more than fifteen destinations in Southern Africa.

Airlink is a full-service regional airline based in Johannesburg (JNB), Cape Town (CPT) and Durban (DUR) in South Africa and has a network to 14 countries including Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia.

The agreement means that the British airline’s customers traveling from or transiting from London will be able to connect to their final destination via Johannesburg (JNB) or Cape Town (CPT). This will provide more choice and flexibility for those traveling to the 18 destinations included in the partnership such as Windhoek in Namibia and Durban in South Africa.

“This is an important next step in our partnership with British Airways, which has phenomenal global reach in our region’s most important markets. Bringing our two networks together will benefit both British Airways and Airlink customers, giving them even more choice with a wide range of itinerary options and connectivity possibilities,” said Rodger Foster, chief executive officer and managing director of Airlink.
