Flydubai released its financial results for 2022, resulting in a second consecutive year of profitability since the COVID-19 pandemic. With a profit of AED 1.2 billion, it exceeded the previous period’s profit by 43%.
«flydubai’s record results for 2022 are a direct result of the airline’s strong business model, as well as its adaptability and agility in challenging times, which has cemented its position as a key contributor to the success of Dubai’s aviation hub.» His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of flydubai, said.
«We realized early on the great opportunities Dubai offers and remained focused and prepared to expand our operations once travel demand returned. Our strong financial position has allowed us to maintain positive cash flows and not need the government assistance that was available to us during the pandemic. 2022 has been an exceptional year, with demand accelerating, marked by the final months of Expo 2020 and unprecedented efforts to support travel to and from the World Cup in Doha.» Expressed Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of Flydubai.
The addition of modern Boeing 737 MAX aircraft to Flydubai’s fleet contributed to these positive results. This new aircraft reduces fuel consumption by 20% over the previous generation.
