Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) strengthens its short/medium-haul operations with 10 new routes and resumes flights to Japan starting in June. In addition, the carrier will increase its services to multiple destinations during the summer and fall.
SAS will be adding more flights to popular Mediterranean destinations such as Alicante (ALC), Malaga (AGP), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Split (SPU) and Sicily. The airline will strengthen its operations in Italy where it will have up to 49 weekly operations from Scandinavia to Milan and more flights from Copenhagen (CPH) to Florence (FLR) and Naples (NAP).
In the domestic market it will be adding more services from Oslo (OSL) to Bergen (BGO), Stavanger (SVG), Trondheim (TRD) and Ålesund (AES), as well as more flights from Copenhagen (CPH) to Ålesund (AES). Seat offerings between Stockholm – Arlanda (ARN) and Helsinki (HEL) will also be increased.

In the transatlantic market, the carrier will start new non-stop services from Gothenburg (GOT) and Aalborg (AAL) to Newark (EWR) operated on Airbus A321LR and the Copenhagen (CPH) – New York (JFK) route changes equipment to Airbus A330-300.
In Asia, SAS will resume scheduled operations to Japan from June and will operate special flights in April to meet Easter demand. During the spring the Copenhagen (CPH) – Shanghai (PVG) route will have three weekly flights.
Flight schedule between Copenhagen and Tokyo
Starts June 1.
- Copenhagen – Tokyo/Haneda Flight SK 983 CPH 11:20 – HND 07:55+1 Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
- Tokyo/Haneda – Copenhagen Flight SK 984 HND 11:45 – CPH 18:40 Monday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route will be operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft and fares are from EUR 990 each way.
New routes and restarts for summer schedule 2023
- Stockholm/Arlanda (ARN) – Florence (FLR) starts on August 18 with twice weekly flights.
- Stockholm/Arlanda (ARN) – Larnaca (LCA) starts on August 19 with one weekly frequency.
- Oslo (OSL) – Tenerife (TFN) starts from the end of June with one weekly flight.
- Oslo (OSL) – Hamburg (HAM) starts on April 6 with two weekly flights.
- Oslo (OSL) – Berlin (BER) starts at Easter with five flights a week.
- Oslo (OSL) – Prague (PRG) starts on September 28 with two flights per week.
- Oslo (OSL) – Tallinn (TLL) starts mid-August with two flights per week.
- Bergen (BGO) – Palma de Mallorca (PMI) starts on June 17 with one weekly frequency.
- Bergen (BGO) – Manchester (MAN) starts on September 8 with two weekly flights.
- Trondheim (TRD) – Split, Croatia (SPU) starts on May 27 with one weekly flight.

- Stockholm/Arlanda (ARN) to Beirut (BYE).

- Oslo (OSL) to Alicante (ALC) and Las Palmas (LPA).
- Bergen (BGO) and Stavanger (SVG) to Alicante (ALC).
- Bergen (BGO) and Stavanger (SVG) to Split (SPU).
