Avelo Airlines announced that it will begin operating the route from Mobile International Airport (BFM) to Orlando International Airport (MCO) on May 31. This is a unique route as commercial flights generally depart from Mobile Regional Airport (MOB).
This flight will have a special inaugural flight on Wednesday, May 31, but will regularly fly between BFM and MCO on Thursdays and Sundays. In addition, Avelo is the only carrier to provide nonstop service between Mobile and Florida.
The aircraft it will use for this service are Boeing 737-800 aircraft with a capacity of 189 passengers.
Mobile International Airport (BFM) is the home of the European manufacturer Airbus’ U.S. production plant. It is an unusual flight, as no commercial airline operates from this airport.
