Air Canada is expanding its offering in the United Arab Emirates with new non-stop service between Vancouver (YVR) and Dubai (DXB) beginning October 28. This route will be the airline’s only operation to the Middle East from its main transpacific hub.

The Canadian carrier will have a 2,384-seat weekly offering on this unprecedented service, which will complement daily flights between Toronto/Pearson (YYZ) and Dubai (DXB) operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
«In cooperation with our codeshare and frequent flyer partner Emirates, our Vancouver – Dubai flights will connect to a multitude of destinations across the Middle East , the Indian subcontinent and East Africain Dubai , providing customers with choice and convenience while traveling for business or visiting friends and family» said Mark Galardo , Air Canada’s senior vice president of network planning and revenue management.
Last year, Air Canada entered into a codeshare partnership with Emirates that allows access to both airlines’ networks, redeem miles through their frequent flyer programs and access to lounges.
This new route will provide customers with convenient connections to the Middle East, Southeast Asia, East Africa and the Indian subcontinent via Dubai (DXB), due to Russian airspace restrictions Air Canada suspended operations to Delhi (DEL) from the west coast, with this service travelers will be able to access more destinations in India.
Similarly, travelers can connect to other destinations on the west coast of the United States and the provinces of Alberta and British Columbia via Vancouver (YVR).

Flight schedule between Vancouver and Dubai
- Vancouver – Dubai Flight AC 78 YVR 20:50 – DXB 23:50+1 Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
- Dubai – Vancouver Flight AC 79 DXB 00:20 – YVR 05:55 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday.
The route will be operated on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 298 seats in three classes (30 Business Class/21 Premium Economy/247 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 996 round trip.
Recently, Canada and the United Arab Emirates expanded the bilateral agreement by 50%, this has allowed for strengthened connectivity between the two nations with increased existing services and new routes.

For the 2023/2024 northern winter season, Air Canada’s Asia-Pacific and Middle East network from Vancouver (YVR) will have service to Auckland (AKL), Bangkok (BKK), Brisbane (BNE), Hong Kong (HKG), Seoul – Incheon (ICN), Tokyo – Narita (NRT), Shanghai (PVG) and soon Dubai (DXB).
