Emirates is set to strengthen its presence in Canada by adding a second destination, connecting Dubai (DXB) with Montreal/Trudeau (YUL) beginning July 5th. This expansion follows the recent enhancement of the bilateral agreement between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Canada, allowing airlines from both countries to increase services and fly to new destinations.
Operating in Canada since 2007, Emirates’ new route complements its flagship service to Toronto with the Airbus A380. Starting April 20th, Emirates will operate daily flights.

Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Chief Commercial Officer, stated, «We have been serving customers with cargo and passenger services to Toronto for over 15 years. When we commence services to Montreal in July, customers will have more options when planning their trips, be it for business, leisure, education, or visiting family and friends. We would like to thank the authorities of the UAE and Canada for the improved agreements that have made this new destination possible.»

Dubai – Montreal Flight EK 243 DXB 02:30 – 08:00 YUL daily flights.
Montreal – Dubai Flight EK 244 YUL 10:20 – 06:30 (+1) DXB daily flights.
The route will be operated by Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, featuring 354 seats across three classes (8 First Class/42 Business Class/304 Economy).
Last year, Emirates initiated a codeshare partnership with Air Canada, enabling the Gulf carrier’s customers to connect to multiple Canadian destinations such as Ottawa, Winnipeg, Halifax, Montreal, Calgary, and Edmonton via Toronto.
Air Canada customers can travel to destinations in Asia, Africa, and the Middle East through Emirates’ extensive network of over 130 destinations via its Dubai hub.
Additionally, the new route will strengthen the export market between Canada and the Middle East and North Africa. In 2022, bilateral trade between Canada and the UAE exceeded CAD 2.6 billion.
More Flights between UAE and Canada
The recent update to the bilateral agreements between the two countries has enabled an increase in flights. Emirates was the first to move from five to seven weekly flights (one daily flight) between Dubai and Toronto, in addition to the new Montreal route.
Furthermore, Air Canada will launch its first-ever service between Vancouver (YVR) and Dubai on October 28th, operating four weekly flights.
Lastly, Etihad Airways will increase its service from six to seven weekly flights between Abu Dhabi (AUH) and Toronto using Boeing 787-9 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft.
According to data obtained from Cirium, the Canada-UAE market will see a 57.4% increase in flights and a 55.2% increase in seat offerings between April and December 2023.
