Emirates is strengthening its services in Canada by increasing the Dubai (DXB) – Toronto (YYZ) route from 5 to 7 flights per week as of April 20. The airline will have an offer of 6,874 seats per week according to Cirum, representing a 40% increase in capacity.

The airline’s increased operations in this segment comes with the recent extension of the bilateral agreement between United Arab Emirates and Canada. This will allow airline operators from both countries to increase their services and fly to new destinations.

«We have been serving customers between Toronto and Dubai since 2007, and although the A380 double-decker aircraft has been operating the route since 2009, demand arising from corporate and leisure travelers, the diaspora and students has consistently exceeded the allocated capacity«, Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ chief commercial officer.

Emirates schedule between Dubai and Toronto

  • Dubai – Toronto Flight EK 241 DXB 03:30 – 09:30 YYZ daily flights.
  • Toronto – Dubai Flight EK 242 YYZ 14:30 – 11:15+1 DXB daily flights.

The route is operated by Airbus A380-800 aircraft with a capacity of 491 passengers in three classes (14 First Class/76 Business Class/401 Economy). The service between Dubai (DXB) and Toronto (YYZ) is popular with customers from India, United Arab Emirates, Bangladesh, Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Sri Lanka, while the same countries represent the top countries of travelers from Toronto.

«The expansion of air services is also an affirmation of the UAE’s growing importance to Canada’s global connectivity, which we can support through our global network of more than 130 destinations. Together with the relevant authorities, our codeshare and loyalty program partner Air Canada, and our valued industry partners, we look forward to playing a role in facilitating more tourism and trade opportunities between the two nations«, Kazim added.

Last year, Emirates began a codeshare partnership with Air Canada, allowing the Gulf carrier’s customers to have connections to multiple Canadian destinations such as Ottawa, Winnipeg, Halifax, Montreal, Calgary and Edmonton via Toronto. Air Canada customers can travel to destinations in Asia, Africa and the Middle East on Emirates‘ extensive network of more than 130 destinations through its hub in Dubai.
