Lufthansa Expands Indian Network with New Routes from Munich and Frankfurt

Lufthansa is broadening its presence in India by launching new services from Munich (MUC) and Frankfurt (FRA) for the northern winter season. By November, the airline will connect Munich to Bangalore (BLR) and introduce a new destination, Hyderabad (HYD), to its network.

Lufthansa Leads Continental Europe in Indian Destinations

Lufthansa will soon offer a non-stop service between Frankfurt (FRA) and Hyderabad (HYD), with tickets available for purchase in May. The airline last operated at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD) on October 30, 2011, with a thrice-weekly service on Airbus A340-300s.
For the northern winter, Lufthansa will operate flights to five Indian destinations from its primary hubs in Frankfurt (FRA) and Munich (MUC), making it the second European carrier to serve Hyderabad (HYD).

The Lufthansa Group is set to offer 62 weekly flights to India from Germany and Switzerland in the upcoming season.

Munich-Bangalore (BLR) Lufthansa Schedule

Beginning November 3, 2023

  • Munich – Bangalore Flight LH 764 MUC 12:10 – BLR 01:10+1 Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.
  • Bangalore – Munich Flight LH 765 BLR 03:00 – MUC 08:15 Monday, Thursday, and Saturday.

The route will be operated with Airbus A350-900 aircraft, and promotional fares start at EUR 455 one way.
This service supplements Lufthansa’s daily operations between Frankfurt (FRA) and Bangalore (BLR). For the winter season, Lufthansa will be the European carrier with the most significant seat capacity, frequencies, and destinations at Kempegowda International Airport (BLR).

  • Delhi (DEL): daily flights on Boeing 747-400.
  • Mumbai (BOM): daily flights on Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
  • Bangalore (BLR): daily flights on Boeing 747-400.
  • Chennai (MAA): five flights per week on Airbus A340-300.
  • Hyderabad (HYD): three flights per week, tickets available in May.
Munich (MUC)
  • Delhi (DEL): daily flights.
  • Mumbai (BOM): daily flights.
  • Bangalore (BLR): three flights per week.

All flights between India and MUC are operated by Airbus A350-900 aircraft.
