Air Europa is readying for the summer season with a significant increase in seat offerings, boasting over 8.5 million seats across its fleet centered around the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Boeing 737-800 models. This boost is a response to rising demand and favorable market conditions, providing nearly a million more seats than the previous year.
The routes towards Europe and the long-haul flights host the majority of available seats. National flights have also seen substantial growth, with over 1.6 million seats available, an increase of more than 24% compared to 2022.
This summer, Air Europa will fly to the Greek island of Santorini twice a week, in addition to establishing connections between Santiago de Compostela and Tenerife and Lanzarote, and between Barcelona and Lanzarote. Routes to Alghero in Italy, Athens, and Tunis will also be reactivated, alongside new connections between Spanish cities.
Key summer routes will be bolstered with an increase in flights. On long-haul routes, flights to Asunción (Paraguay) and Córdoba (Argentina) will be daily, and there will be five weekly flights to Medellín. There will be daily flights between Bilbao and Palma de Mallorca, and flights between Madrid and Lanzarote will increase to four per week.
The Air Europa fleet, focused around Boeing models, is crucial for this capacity increase. The Dreamliner is the airline’s flagship, capable of reducing fuel consumption and emissions by 20%, and acoustic impact by 60%.
Air Europa will fly to Santorini for the first time and resume its routes to Athens, Alghero, and Tunis. The connection between New York and Santo Domingo will have two weekly flights. In addition, the airline will expand its destination network for the next summer season, offering over 65,000 seats across four new routes in Europe and North Africa. As part of its expansion plan, driven by recovery and growth since 2022, Air Europa will reinforce its summer programming with a new route between New York and Santo Domingo.
Santorini, Athens, Alghero, and Tunis will be operated by the Boeing 737-800 fleet, the central model in Air Europa‘s short and medium-haul fleet. The company, which has chosen the Boeing 787 Dreamliner for its entire transoceanic network, continues to expand its fleet in response to growing market demand.
