Free tickets on Cathay Pacific flights to Hong Kong from South Korea, North America and Oceania

Starting today, some 24.000 free tickets will gradually be made available as part of the “World of Winners” campaign. Thanks to its extensive intercontinental route network, Cathay Pacific will offer most of them in international markets.

Customers in South Korea can access the tickets from today, while the campaign will be launched in Canada and the United States on Thursday 18 May. Membership in the airline’s loyalty programme is required to try to get one of these tickets, which are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

In addition, from 29 May Cathay Pacific will make 6.020 seats available at a 100% discount for travel from Australia and a further 460 seats from New Zealand. They will be available for travel between the same day and 28 February 2024. The minimum period of stay in Hong Kong will be two days and the maximum one month.

Free tickets from more countries in Asia and Europe

Cathay Pacific also launched the programme in India, Bangladesh and the United Arab Emirates. In these countries it will offer a total of 5.590 round-trip tickets.

Previously, the campaign had already been launched in the United Kingdom with the offer of 3.000 seats, while on 10 May the airline launched promotional tickets for flights between Spain and Hong Kong.

Those users who manage to book their itinerary only have to pay the corresponding taxes and the fuel charge. Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable. In addition, any changes to the original itinerary incur additional charges, as is usually the case with the cheapest fares on each flight.

An initiative to promote tourism in Hong Kong

In 2020, when the pandemic was causing an unprecedented impact on global air travel activity, the Hong Kong Airport Authority purchased half a million tickets from airlines to support the subsequent recovery and encourage more visitors.

It has since implemented a series of promotional campaigns in different markets, including offering tickets at no cost to the user.
