Saudi low-cost carrier Flynas took delivery of two new Airbus A320neo and one A330-300 as part of its fleet expansion and modernisation plan. As a result, the airline now has a total of 48 aircraft in operation, representing an 84% growth compared to the first quarter of 2021.
The two A320neo arrived at King Khalid International Airport (RUH) in Riyadh between 3 and 4 May, while the A330-300 landed at King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah on 6 May.

Flynas expands its fleet
The new Airbus A320neo aircraft were registered as HZ-NS58 (MSN 1443) and HZ-NS59 (MSN 11414). Like all aircraft of the type currently operated by Flynas, they have an interior configuration of 174 seats in a single class.
For its part, the A330-300 (MSN 1757) is six and a half years old. It was delivered direct from the factory to South African Airways, in October 2016. It has now been registered as HZ-NE23.
The airline expects to receive of a total of 19 aircraft during 2023. The deliveries will be part of the 120 airplanes order previously placed with the European manufacturer for a total of 10 billion dollars.
Bander Almohanna, CEO of Flynas, highlighted the growth in operations and the expansion of the fleet. He noted that the company has taken delivery of 22 aircraft in the last 26 months. Based on the increase in capacity, the company’s goal is to expand its network to 165 domestic and international destinations.
More aircraft and more capacity
The recent additions will allow Flynas to press ahead with its network expansion plan, especially ahead of the northern summer season.
From June, the airline will fly from King Khalid International Airport, its main hub, to Yerevan in Armenia, Antalya in Turkey, Tivat in Montenegro and also to Malé in the Maldives.
Seasonal services to and from Prague, Vienna, Salzburg, Baku, Tbilisi, Sarajevo, Hurghada, Sharm, Trabzon, Bodrum and Salalah will also be added.
