Strengthening Cargo Operations: Air Canada Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo Initiate Interline Agreement

Air Canada Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo commence their interline agreement, providing customers with enhanced cargo booking options on flights operated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) based carrier. The agreement will connect America with Southeast Asia and India via major European centers.

Matthieu Casey, Commercial General Manager at Air Canada Cargo, commented, “We are pleased to witness these continuous improvements that further enhance the user experience for both Air Canada Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo customers. This robust partnership will continue to evolve, providing enormous value to the freight forwarding community, marking another significant stride in that direction.”

The online booking system has been upgraded and is fully operational, allowing Air Canada Cargo customers to book shipments on Emirates SkyCargo flights. Reservations can be made through AirCanadaCargo.com, WebCargo, Cargo-One, and CargoAI, as well as via direct connection clients.

Activating the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU)

The implementation of this launch is in accordance with the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) the airlines signed in February of this year. The MoU laid out an interline cooperation and also builds on the broader strategic business partnership between Air Canada and Emirates, announced last year.

This partnership grants Air Canada Cargo access to Emirates SkyCargo’s high-frequency distribution network, transporting customer parcels in the cargo holds of Emirates’ regular flights to over 140 destinations worldwide, in addition to the 11 cargo aircraft of the UAE-based company.

Conversely, customers booking with Emirates SkyCargo can send shipments to over 60 cities in Canada and over 150 destinations worldwide via Air Canada Cargo. The Canadian airline operates shipments on its Boeing 767 freighters and in the cargo holds of Air Canada’s regular passenger flights.
