ATR will have two ATR 72-600 aircraft present in Paris
In the static display, one of them will be the first ATR 72-600 equipped with Azul’s PW127XT engines, which emit 45% less CO2 than other regional aircraft of similar size. This plane, with the future registration PR-YXB, will also mark ATR’s debut in Brazil and America with the new Pratt & Whitney engine. Azul, ATR’s biggest customer in the Americas, currently operates 39 ATR 72-600s and previously operated another 51 turboprops after merging with TRIP Linhas Aereas.

The PW127XT engine will be present in all future ATR 42 and 72 models. According to Pratt & Whitney, this new engine allows for up to a 20% reduction in maintenance costs and a 3% reduction in fuel consumption compared to its predecessor, the PW127M.
In November 2022, ATR delivered the first ATR 72-600 aircraft with the new engine to Air Corsica. Additionally, ATR aims to obtain the necessary certification for ATR 42 and 72 models to commercially operate using 100% SAF (Sustainable Aviation Fuel) within two years.
In the air show, the FedEx Express ATR 72-600F will be displayed, specifically designed for cargo operations with a payload capacity of up to 9 tons. This aircraft has a large cargo door and a wide cross-section, optimizing cargo operations. It can transport up to seven LD3 type containers or five 88″ x 108″ pallets.
FedEx Express was the first customer to order the ATR 72-600 freighter, having ordered a total of 30 aircraft in November 2017, with an option to acquire another 20. Currently, the company operates thirteen aircraft and plans to replace their ATR 72-200F, which are over 30 years old.
