On June 1, Norse Atlantic Airways began non-stop flights between London and Washington. This is the company’s fourth route between the United Kingdom and the United States, complementing its services to New York (JFK), Orlando (MCO) and Fort Lauderdale (FLL).
Flight Z0 740 was operated by a Boeing 787 registered as G-CKWP, which took off from Gatwick Airport (LGW) at 15:52 local time and landed at Dulles International Airport (IAD) at 17:51, after almost seven hours.
According to information compiled through the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), 978,807 passengers were mobilized between London and the Washington metropolitan area in 2019. Norse Atlantic is currently the only low cost carrier to operate in this segment and competes with full service carriers such as United Airlines, British Airways and Virgin Atlantic.

- Washington/Dulles – London/Gatwick Flight Z0 741 IAD 20:35 – LGW 08:55+1 Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Route details
- From September, the service is reduced to four flights per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday).
The route is operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft with a capacity of 338 seats in two classes (56 Premium Economy/282 Economy) and promotional fares start at GBP 450 round trip, including taxes.
Washington is Norse Atlantic’s first destination to the United States this year, the low cost airline has scheduled for this summer season to start new services to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and by September 18 will move its operations from Fort Lauderdale to Miami.
