Denmark, the United States, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom announced the creation of a new fund that will supply hundreds of air defense missiles to enable Ukraine to protect its critical infrastructure and support its counteroffensive.

The Ministries of Defense of Denmark, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom, as well as the U.S. Department of Defense, announced their partnership to supply Ukraine with high-priority air defense equipment to address its most urgent air defense needs.

The initiative was announced ahead of the June 15, 2023 meeting of the U.S.-led Ukraine Defense Contact Group (UDCG) in Brussels, Belgium.

Hundreds of short- and medium-range air defense systems will be acquired through this fund. Delivery of the equipment has already begun and is expected to be completed in a few weeks. The package consists mostly of Soviet-era missiles, which meet the most pressing needs of the Ukrainian Armed Forces for systems to support offensive operations and protect critical national infrastructure.
