Alaska Airlines Announces Flights to Guatemala

Alaska Airlines continues to expand its offerings between the West Coast of the United States and Central America with the launch of new nonstop service between Los Angeles and Guatemala City beginning in December. This new route will be complemented by schedules to Mexico, Costa Rica, Belize and the Bahamas.

According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Department of Transportation (DOT), 1,263,669 passengers were mobilized with an occupancy factor of 67% between the U.S. and Guatemala in 2021, being the fourth largest Central American market in the United States. Alaska will soon compete in the Los Angeles – Guatemala City segment with United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Volaris and Avianca.

With Alaska Airlines’ announcement to Guatemala, the carrier becomes the seventh U.S. carrier to offer nonstop service at La Aurora International Airport. The Seattle-based airline will offer 2,226 weekly seats between Los Angeles and Guatemala City by December.

Alaska Airlines flight schedule to Guatemala

Starts December 14, 2023.

  • Los Angeles – Guatemala City Flight AS 1353 LAX 23:15 – GUA 06:00+1 daily flights.
  • Guatemala City – Los Angeles Flight AS 1354 GUA 11:45 – LAX 15:10 daily flights.

It will be operated in Boeing 737-800 aircraft with 159 seats in three classes (12 First Class/30 Premium Class/117 Main Cabin) and promotional fares are available from USD 369 round trip. With this new service, passengers can access the airline’s extensive network of destinations.

This new destination strengthens Alaska’s Latin America network from its hub in Los Angeles, where the airline currently has the most flights to most destinations in Latin America of any carrier, including up to 18 daily nonstop flights this winter season to 12 cities throughout the region.

By December, Alaska’s Latin America and Caribbean network from Los Angeles will have service to Belize, Cancun, Guadalajara, Liberia/Guanacaste, Loreto, Mazatlan, Nassau, Puerto Vallarta, San Jose del Cabo, San Jose Costa Rica, Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo, Manzanillo and soon Guatemala City. In total, the airline will offer 42,602 weekly seats between the two regions.
