Cathay Pacific is increasing its presence in Western Australia by increasing its services between Perth and Hong Kong from three to five flights per week, representing a 45% recovery in pre-pandemic capacity. The growth of this service will enhance tourism, educational and commercial opportunities between Australia and Hong Kong.
«Cathay Pacific’s increased services will bring an additional 58,240 seats to the Perth market. Cargo capacity on commercial air services is crucial for local exporters, and the additional services also provide more than 4,500 tons of additional cargo capacity between Perth and Hong Kong/North Asia«, said Kate Holsgrove, acting general manager of Perth Airport.
In addition to its services to Perth, Cathay Pacific’s Australian network has services to Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. Following the removal of travel restrictions in Hong Kong, the airline has steadily restored its frequencies and seat capacity in the South Pacific.
Cathay Pacific flight schedules to Perth
From December 6, 2023.
- Hong Kong – Perth Flight CX 171 HKG 15:15 – PER 22:50 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
- Perth – Hong Kong Flight CX 170 PER 00:10 – HKG 07:40 Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
The route is operated on Airbus A350-900 aircraft with 280 seats in three classes (38 Business Class/28 Premium Economy/214 Economy) and promotional fares are available from USD 917 return. In addition, this new service will provide convenient connections to multiple destinations in North Asia including South Korea, China and Japan, as well as travel options to the United States and Canada.
According to data obtained by Aviacionline through the Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Cities and Regional Development, 229,052 passengers and 13,235.3 tons of cargo were moved in the period June 2018 to June 2019 between Hong Kong and Perth. Cathay Pacific is currently the only airline operating in this segment.
