LOT Polish Airlines announces acquisition of three new Boeing 737 MAX. These aircraft will be supplied by Air Lease Corporation (ALC), the current provider of this model for the Polish airline, and are expected to arrive between 2023 and 2024.
At present, LOT operates a total of eleven Boeing 737-8 MAX, five of which have a configuration to carry 186 passengers, while the other six have a capacity for 189. LOT’s first 737 MAX arrived in Warsaw on December 2, 2017, and began operating on December 4 of the same year.
The LOT’s 737 MAX fleet is primarily deployed on several important routes, including London-Heathrow (LHR) in the UK, Tel Aviv-Yafo (TLV) in Israel, Barcelona (BCN) and Madrid (MAD) in Spain, Yerevan (EVN) in Armenia, Paris-De Gaulle (CDG) in France, Beirut (BEY) in Lebanon, and Radom in Poland.
LOT’s decision to continue investing in the Boeing 737 MAX fleet demonstrates the airline’s confidence in this aircraft model, despite the challenges it has faced in the past. With an improved safety track record and a series of updates made on the aircraft, the 737 MAXs are considered safe and reliable for operation.
