Lufthansa has scheduled a series of special flights between Munich and London Stansted to meet strong demand for travel to the annual Oktoberfest. The German carrier will continue to offer 62 weekly flights between the Bavarian capital and Heathrow.
The airline will provide 11 flights for travelers from the region who wish to enjoy the world-famous German beer festival. In addition, the departure from Stansted will be a convenient option for travelers from the East of England and North London.
Heinrich Lange, Senior Sales Director Northern Europe for Lufthansa Airlines, said: «The Munich Oktoberfest enjoys worldwide popularity, especially in Great Britain. Visitors from the UK are among the top nationalities at this festival. Lufthansa is responding to this local demand by offering special non-stop flights to reach the Bavarian capital quickly and easily.»

The service will be operated on 180-seat Airbus A320neo aircraft and promotional fares are available from £124 return. Lufthansa will provide 3,960 seats between Munich and Stansted during Oktoberfest. During this period, the airline will also fly from the Bavarian capital to other UK destinations such as London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh.

Oktoberfest is one of the most popular festivals in the world, attended by more than six million people. The festival has been celebrated since 1810 and begins with a beer tap opening ceremony and parade in traditional costumes.
This year’s festival, which runs from September 16 to October 3, gives visitors the opportunity to explore local Bavarian culture, enjoy traditional food, listen to live music and, of course, sample the region’s famous beers.
