The Komsomolsk-on-Amur Aviation Plant “Yu.A. Gagarin” of United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), part of the state-owned conglomerate Rostec, manufactured and delivered the second batch of new Su-35S multirole fighters to the Russian Defense Ministry this year.

“The Komsomolsk-on-Amur aviation plant produces aviation equipment under the state defense order within the terms stipulated by contracts, even ahead of delivery deadlines, meeting the needs of the Russian Aerospace Forces in modern aviation systems,” said Yury Slyusar, General Director of PJSC UAC.

The Su-35S generation 4++ Su-35S multirole fighters passed a cycle of ground and flight tests in various operational modes and flew from KnAAZ airfield to the destination site.

The Su-35 aircraft is designed to gain air supremacy, destroy ground and surface targets day and night, in all weather conditions, at long distances from the base airfield and, according to Rostec, is a transition aircraft to fifth-generation fighters.

Distinctive features of the aircraft are high flight performance, altitude, speed and maneuverability, long-range detection and tracking systems, a modern communication system and high-speed information exchange between the aircraft and ground control points, and between aircraft. It also has a wide range of high-performance, long-range air-to-air and air-to-surface guided weapons and a highly effective electronic self-defense and countermeasures system.

The propulsion plant based on new engines with a digital control system (FADEC) and thrust vector control significantly improves the aircraft’s performance and maneuverability.

Although the UAC publication does not report the number of Su-35S aircraft delivered on this occasion, only two units can be seen in the video.
