WestJet has announced an expanded flight schedule for the upcoming winter season, including the introduction of new routes, the reactivation of several services, and the extension of popular summer domestic and international routes to be available year-round. The Canadian airline continues to enhance its travel offerings, aiming to provide more options to customers traveling to popular vacation destinations.

WestJet Expands Routes to Sun and Beach Destinations
As part of its growth strategy, the airline is focusing on expanding its leisure and sun travel offerings. It’s providing customers with affordable fares and opening up new opportunities to fly to sought-after destinations. WestJet is scheduling four new routes and reactivating another four. This winter, the airline will offer more than 85 daily departures to sun destinations from Canada. Furthermore, WestJet is leading among Canadian airlines by offering flights to over 10 Mexican destinations from Canada this winter.
New Routes and Reactivated Services
New routes:
- Calgary – Tampa: One weekly flight starting December 23.
- Edmonton – Montego Bay: One weekly flight starting December 12.
- Toronto – Bonaire: One weekly flight starting December 24.
- Winnipeg – Huatulco: One weekly flight starting December 12.
Reactivated routes:
- Edmonton – Mazatlan: Two weekly flights starting November 4.
- Prince George – Puerto Vallarta: One weekly flight starting December 16.
- Victoria – Los Cabos: One weekly flight starting November 9.
- Edmonton – Abbotsford: Five weekly flights starting October 29.
Year-Round Route Extensions
- Calgary – Paris: Four weekly flights.
- Edmonton – Minneapolis: Five weekly flights.
- Saskatoon – Minneapolis: Three weekly flights.
- Winnipeg – Atlanta: Five weekly flights.
- Vancouver – Atlanta: Five weekly flights.
- Vancouver – Regina: Three weekly flights.
- Vancouver – Saskatoon: Two weekly flights.
WestJet’s Expansion in the Domestic Market
Continuing its goal of expanding coast-to-coast operations in Canada, WestJet is extending two key routes in Calgary from seasonal summer service to year-round operation.

WestJet Group Capacity
As an integral part of the WestJet Group, Sunwing Airlines is further boosting leisure and sun travel options in Canada. Together, WestJet and Sunwing will offer more seats this winter than any other Canadian airline, providing 230 nonstop routes from 26 Canadian communities to 55 popular sun destinations in the United States, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean.
With the release of the winter schedule, Sunwing continues its focus on domestic markets, increasing capacity in Atlantic Canada by 26%, Quebec by 15%, and Ontario by 9% compared to 2022.
