Air Europa Launches Its First Co-Branded Credit Card Outside of Spain

Air Europa has sealed an alliance with Banesco Panama and Mastercard, enabling the launch of a co-branded credit card. This is the first time the airline has introduced such a product outside of Spain.

The new Air Europa and Banesco Black Mastercard will allow customers to earn miles in the airline’s frequent flyer SUMA program through their purchases, which can then be used for travel redemptions, as well as special benefits and discounts.

Those who apply for and obtain the card will receive 14,000 welcome miles, accumulate 4 miles for every dollar spent on Air Europa, hotels, and car rental companies, and acquire Gold status. They will also gain access to hundreds of VIP lounges in airports around the world through the Mastercard Airport Experience program.

“This launch for Air Europa and the SUMA loyalty program is a very special day, as this is the first co-branded card launched outside of Spain, and our growth plan also includes other countries in the region. Likewise, it reaffirms confidence in Panama, a strategic destination for the airline since we began operations over 4 years ago,” said Diego García, General Delegate of America for Air Europa, in statements reproduced by the Panamanian medium Informe Aéreo.

Alfonso Prieto, Executive President and General Manager of Banesco Panama, emphasized that “thanks to this alliance with the airline and Mastercard, at Banesco Panama we tirelessly continue to provide each of our customers with the best experience and the best service, offering our products with great benefits that exceed market expectations.”

The Air Europa and Banesco Black Mastercard will be available for application starting August 15 at Banesco branches in Panama or through the bank’s website.
