Aer Lingus breaks 2 million passenger mark on its transatlantic network in 2023

Aer Lingus welcomed the two millionth passenger to fly transatlantic with the airline this year. Natasha Doherty, from Donegal, took flight EI 121 from Dublin to Orlando with her husband Redmond Doherty.

To celebrate the two million passenger mark, Natasha was surprised at check-in with a free upgrade to Business Class for her and her partner on their flight from Dublin to Orlando.

It was a dream come true to discover at check-in that we had been upgraded to Business Class on our flight to Orlando. We are going on our honeymoon and this is the perfect start. Thank you so much Aer Lingus for this wonderful memory,” said Natasha.

During the 2023 summer season, Aer Lingus has flown its largest ever schedule of flights, with more than 2.25 million seats to North America on 19 nonstop routes, including the newest service to Cleveland, Ohio, which was introduced to the network in May.

Aer Lingus is the fifth-largest European airline in the U.S.-Europe market by number of seats offered. For the winter schedule, the airline will resume flights from Dublin to Miami from October 28 and to Barbados with a non-stop connection from Manchester from November 1.

The Irish airline continues its strategic expansion plan in 2024 with new nonstop services to Denver and Minneapolis/St. Paul, increasing Aer Lingus’ total number of routes between Europe and North America to 21.

Over the past 10 years we have grown our transatlantic network from 6 routes to 19 by 2023, including the addition of new direct services from Manchester to North America,” said Susanne Carberry, Aer Lingus Chief Customer Officer.

Aer Lingus’ transatlantic destinations in Ireland are: New York JFK (Dublin and Shannon), Newark, Boston (Dublin and Shannon), Washington-Dulles, Hartford, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Cleveland, Orlando, Chicago O’Hare, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle-Tacoma, Toronto-Pearson, Miami, Denver and Minneapolis/St. Paul.

In Manchester, the airline has nonstop service to New York JFK, Orlando and Barbados.
