In celebration of its first anniversary, Arajet launched a promotion last week offering tickets from 7.37 dollars, alluding to its 737 MAX fleet, carried out in partnership with Boeing, the manufacturer of these planes.
In addition to announcing that they had record sales days leading destinations such as Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and Buenos Aires, the Dominican low-cost airline pointed out that they are already ready to fly to the United States.
«Thank you Boeing for walking hand in hand with us at every step, providing greater operational security and experience that has led us to be the Latin American airline with the most efficient fleet of planes on the market», said Víctor Pacheco, CEO and founder of Arajet, who also thanked Bain Capital and Griffin Capital Management, the main investors of the airline.
«We only hope that the United States responds to the first three routes we have requested, and we believe that we are very close to achieving the open skies treaty between the Dominican Republic and the United States, which would expand to 17 new destinations in that country«, added Pacheco, referring to their entry into that market.
The Dominican authorities had already authorized Arajet to fly to these destinations in the United States: Atlantic City (ACY), Baltimore (BWI), Boston (BOS), Chicago/O’Hare (ORD), Philadelphia (PHL), Miami (MIA), Newark (EWR), New York/Stewart (SWF), Orlando (MCO), San Juan (SJU), Tampa (TPA), and Washington/Dulles (IAD).
Since the beginning of its operations in September 2022, Arajet has transported more than 360 thousand passengers, connecting 22 destinations throughout America. In 2024 they expect to move 1.5 million passengers.
Currently, the network of the Dominican low-cost airline from Santo Domingo includes Aruba (AUA); Barranquilla (BAQ), Bogotá (BOG) and Cartagena (CTG), Colombia; San José (SJO), Costa Rica; Curaçao (CUR); Quito (UIO) and Guayaquil (GYE), Ecuador; San Salvador (SAL), El Salvador; Guatemala City (GUA); Kingston (KIN), Jamaica; Cancún (CUN) and Mexico City (NLU), Mexico; Lima (LIM), Peru; and St. Maarten (SXM).
