Cayman Airlines expands flights to Los Angeles, adds new destination

Cayman Airways has introduced for its winter schedule an expansion of some of its routes to the west coast of the United States and the expansion of its Caribbean network with a new destination.

Service to Los Angeles will increase from one weekly frequency to two flights a week. Currently, the airline offers departure from the Cayman Islands on Saturdays, with return travel to the islands on Sundays.

Scheduling of the new frequency to Los Angeles

Beginning November 8, 2023.

  • Grand Cayman – Los Angeles Flight KX 480 GCM 15:45 – LAX 19:00 Wednesday.
  • Los Angeles – Grand Cayman Flight KX 481 LAX 08:00 – GCM 16:00 Thursday.

For this winter season, Cayman Airlines will offer 6,400 seats per week between the Cayman Islands and the United States, representing a 5.2% increase in capacity compared to last year’s levels. The airline’s U.S. network also includes service to Miami, Tampa and New York JFK.

New Caribbean destination

Cayman Airways’ newest non-stop flight is Bridgetown, Barbados. This service brings to three the number of Caribbean countries where the airline operates out of its home country, complementing routes to Cuba and Jamaica.

Service to Bridgetown will initially begin with one weekly frequency and then increase to two weekly flights, with convenient connections to the airline’s network of destinations though Grand Cayman.

  • Flight KX 800: Grand Cayman (GCM) 07:00 – Bridgetown (BGI) 11:25 Wednesday.
  • Flight KX 801: Bridgetown (BGI) 12:45 – Grand Cayman (GCM) 15:25 Wednesday.

As of November 7, 2023.

  • Flight KX 802: Grand Cayman (GCM) 17:10 – Bridgetown (BGI) 21:35 Tuesday and Thursday.
  • Flight KX 805: Bridgetown (BGI) 11:45 – Grand Cayman (GCM) 14:25 Wednesday.
  • Flight KX 803: Bridgetown (GCM) 09:20 – Grand Cayman (GCM) 12:00 Friday.

Connections to the United States and the Caribbean

Beginning November 7, service to Barbados will have convenient connections to the most popular destinations in Cayman Airways’ existing route network on the following schedule:

  • Tuesdays: Kingston, Havana, Miami, Cayman Brac.
  • Wednesday and Thursday: New York JFK, Cayman Brac and Los Angeles.
  • Friday: La Ceiba, Kingston, Miami and Cayman Brac.
