Emirates and AEGEAN deepen their codeshare partnership adding Athens – Newark route

Emirates and AEGEAN Airlines have expanded their codeshare agreement by adding the Athens-New York (Newark) route, and the two airlines are celebrating the anniversary of their alliance with more than 16,800 passengers flown.

Emirates customers can make a stopover in Athens and benefit from the Greek airline’s connections to popular Greek and European destinations. In addition, AEGEAN travelers will also have access to Emirates flights between Athens and Dubai, as well as flights between Athens and Newark.

We are pleased to unveil an expanded codeshare partnership with Emirates, one of the industry’s most successful leaders. This pivotal step brings Athens and New York closer to all AEGEAN passengers, while facilitating seamless travel to popular Greek and European destinations across our network, for all passengers who choose Emirates as their gateway to Greece,” said Dimitris Gerogiannis, CEO of AEGEAN.

The codeshare agreement between Emirates and AEGEAN began in August 2022, providing travelers connecting from the Gulf carrier’s network to use a single ticket and baggage allowance to eight Greek destinations via Athens. The Greek carrier has also placed its “A3” code on flights operated by Emirates between Dubai and Athens, allowing customers to benefit from seamless travel between the two hubs.

Through the codeshare partnership, AEGEAN provides flights to 17 Greek destinations and 53 cities in Europe and the Middle East from its hub in Athens, while customers will also have access to Emirates’ extensive network offering 140 destinations worldwide. The combined network of both airlines will exceed 200 destinations worldwide.
