Emirates and SriLankan Airlines have signed a reciprocal interline agreement to strengthen connectivity for travelers on both airlines. The partnership will offer access to new destinations on both carriers’ networks via Colombo and Dubai, using a single airline ticket and baggage allowance with check-in through to the final destination.
The interline partnership will allow access to 15 regional destinations operated by Sri Lankan via Colombo for Emirates customers to choose from. The interline network will have two new cities, Madurai and Tiruchirapally in India, in addition to Gan Island in the Maldives. Destinations in India, Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia include Cochin, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Malé, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Jakarta, Guangzhou, Seoul and Tokyo.
SriLankan Airlines customers will have access to Emirates’ extensive global network and will be able to connect to 15 Emirates-operated cities beyond Dubai. The interline network includes destinations in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and the United States. SriLankan Airlines passengers will also be able to take advantage of the interline agreement when flying with Emirates to Bahrain, Amman, Dammam, Medina, Cairo, Muscat, Nairobi, Moscow, Tel Aviv and a number of U.S. destinations including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston and Houston.

Emirates began services to Sri Lanka in 1986 and has since flown more than 11 million passengers to and from Colombo, making it a key destination for the airline to connect mostly passengers from Europe and the Middle East to Sri Lanka.
The Gulf carrier currently offers two daily non-stop flights to Colombo operated by Boeing 777-300ERs, as well as an additional daily service via Malé (Maldives) providing customers with a wider choice of flights and convenient connections. Emirates is the only international airline to offer First Class cabin in Sri Lanka.
