Aeroflot Technics, the maintenance provider for the Russian state airline, Aeroflot, has recently inaugurated a certified workshop dedicated to the repair of landing gear for Airbus A320 aircraft. This endeavor received approval from the Federal Air Transport Agency and will commence operations at Sheremetyevo Airport, in the Russian capital.
Until now, Aeroflot primarily focused on replacing struts for A320 aircraft. With the opening of this new workshop, they will now provide comprehensive technical maintenance, including major inspections. The agency’s audit covered a thorough assessment of operations, staff, internal regulatory documents, and rigorous inspections of production areas, storage, and offices.

Aeroflot Group is the largest operator of Airbus A320 aircraft in Russia. The chassis repair workshop, once it reaches its full production capacity, will play a pivotal role in meeting the conglomerate’s needs. They also have plans to expand their repair capabilities to more aircraft models in the future. Aeroflot, Russia’s largest airline, encompasses subsidiaries Rossiya and Pobeda. In 2022, the group transported 40.7 million passengers.
Due to sanctions against the country, Aeroflot Technics has been expanding its operational capabilities. At the beginning of the year, it became the first provider in Russia to work on replacing struts for Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 aircraft. To overcome the shortage of spare parts, Aeroflot is utilizing replicas of foreign aircraft parts produced by Rosatom. This initiative emerged in response to sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union, which prohibit the legal import of parts into the country following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
