Fokker Services Group (FSG) will provide maintenance for Albastar’s Boeing 737 NG aircraft, a Spanish charter flight services provider for tour operators. Through this agreement, an extensive support program will be offered for the fleet of five Boeing 737 NG aircraft operated by Albastar.

As a result, Albastar officially becomes the launch customer for Fokker Services Group’s «nose-to-tail» (NTT) maintenance program for the Boeing 737 NG. The Dutch company will provide services for a wide range of components of Albastar’s aircraft. This will encompass various elements such as engine accessories, hydraulic actuators, valves, cabin controls, and instruments.

Albastar was founded in 2009 through the initiative of Italian and British entrepreneurs. Its main objective is to provide charter air transport services and «wet lease». On July 30, 2010, it obtained its Air Operator Certificate, and the following day, the company’s inaugural flight took off, operated by its Boeing 737-400 registration EC-LAV.

Menzo van der Beek, CEO of FSG, emphasized, «The introduction of this new program demonstrates our commitment to excel in the secondary market of the 737 NG. We will leverage our expertise to maintain the highest standards. We thank Albastar for choosing us as their partner for this platform.» On a similar note, Jaime Bestard, COO and Chief Technical Officer of Albastar, added, «Access to extensive stocks and repair capabilities has shown that Fokker Services Group is the partner we needed to ensure the efficiency of our operations. We expect the support they will provide to contribute to our expansion plans, including doubling the size of our 737 NG fleet.»

FSG launched its first NTT service in 1992 when it introduced the maintenance program for Fokker aircraft operators. Over time, the program expanded to include Dash-8 and CRJ aircraft. Simultaneously, FSG strengthened its in-house repair capabilities with the goal of achieving up to 70% coverage for the Boeing B737 NG platform.
