One of EgyptAir’s new international routes has just been temporarily suspended. The African airline started flights between Cairo and Sao Paulo on September 4th, chartering them to Brazilian travel agencies.

However, after only two flights, which were once a fortnight, the route was suspended and will not resume until November the 27th at the earliest, as reported by AEROIN.

According to the company, the suspension is due to the fact that “the process of signing the bilateral agreement has been delayed,” implying that there has been a delay in finalizing the agreement between Brazil and Egypt.

The airline noted that passengers who had already purchased tickets for the direct flight will be reassigned to other carriers with connecting flights, in a work to be carried out by the travel agency.

Apparently, flights on the CairoSao Paulo route were not as full as planned and the airline rushed to sell direct to consumers, but the bilateral agreement did not arrive in time.
