LATAM Airlines in the period between January and September 2023 mobilized 24.3 million domestic passengers in Brazil, an increase of 18% when compared to the same period last year.
In total, LATAM has launched 11 new destinations in Brazil since 2021, contributing to the steady growth in demand and consolidating the company in the domestic market.
«We want more and more Brazilians to be able to fly. For this reason, we have made sustainable and strategic investments in our operation, always seeking to grow where there is potential demand,» says Aline Mafra, LATAM Brazil’s Sales and Marketing Director.
From January to September this year, LATAM achieved a 12.7% growth in its domestic passenger demand in Brazil, measured in RPK (Revenue Passenger Kilometers), and a 12.3% increase in domestic seat capacity, measured in ASK (seats per kilometers offered), compared to the same period in 2022.
Since 2021, LATAM has added 11 new Brazilian destinations to its schedule including Jericoacoara, Juazeiro do Norte, Vitória da Conquista, Petrolina, Presidente Prudente, Montes Claros, Juiz de Fora, Cascavel, Sinop, Caxias do Sul and Passo Fundo.
This expansion in the domestic market allowed LATAM to surpass its record of 55 destinations in Brazil. In addition, the airline expands its codeshare agreement with Voepass to allow access to 16 regional destinations in Brazil.
LATAM Airlines continues to consolidate its position as the leading airline offering the most international flights in Brazil. In 2023, the company started the Brasilia-Lima, Porto Alegre-Santiago, São Paulo-Los Angeles and São Paulo-Johannesburg routes, and reconnected Brazil with Melbourne (via Santiago) and Caracas (via Lima).
LATAM’s international expansion continues with the start of new routes from Belo Horizonte and Florianópolis to Santiago by the end of this year, and will also offer connections from Brazil to Aruba, Havana and Atlanta via Lima.
