Porter Airlines Expands to U.S. West Coast Reaching Los Angeles and San Francisco

Porter Airlines continues with its strategic plan to expand its operations in the U.S., for next year it will land on the West Coast with new services from Toronto-Pearson to Los Angeles and San Francisco, bringing to eleven the number of destinations it offers in the United States.

The new Toronto-San Francisco service will be the longest route in Porter’s schedule with a distance of 3,636 kilometers and will have an approximate flight time of five hours and 52 minutes. Porter Airlines will compete in this segment with the Air Canada-United Airlines cross-border alliance.

Porter will be the fourth Canadian airline to operate the Toronto-Los Angeles route where it will compete with Air Canada, Lynx Air and WestJet’s seasonal connection. The airline’s new service will add 1,848 seats per week on this segment.

Starts January 25, 2024

  • Toronto – San Francisco Flight PD 669 YYZ 10:30 – SFO 13:22 daily flights
  • San Francisco – Toronto Flight PD 670 SFO 14:50 – YYZ 22:46 daily flights

Both services will be operated on 132-seat Embraer E195-E2 aircraft in a single configuration and promotional fares are available from $288 each way in PorterClassic. Porter’s cabin service offers fast Wi-Fi connection, a wide range of streaming services, a wide selection of refreshments and seats with extra space.

Passengers purchasing tickets with PorterReserve fares have priority check-in, the extra legroom seats and premium pre-mixed cocktails. In addition, customers from California can access Porter’s domestic network in Toronto connecting to destinations in Ottawa, Montreal, Halifax, and St. Johns.

In August of this year, Porter made a significant expansion into Florida with new service to Miami, Orlando, Tampa, Fort Lauderdale and Fort Myers, expanding its offering of popular vacation destinations for Canadian travelers. The Embraer E195-E2 aircraft is a key factor in the airline’s continued international expansion.

Porter’s U.S. network also includes nonstop flights to Newark, Boston, Washington-Dulles and Chicago-Midway.
