Touchdown in Denver: Viva Aerobus Broadens its Network

Viva Aerobus expands its offerings in the United States with the launch of a new non-stop service between Monterrey and Denver International Airport. The low cost airline will be the third carrier to operate in the Mile-High City.

Viva Aerobus is the 25th airline to offer service to Denver, and the only one that will have nonstop service to Monterrey; the airline is scheduled to fly year-round to this connection. The airline will offer its low-cost business model that will allow travelers the ability to travel at affordable prices.

With these new flights, Denver will provide nonstop access to a total of 29 destinations in 16 countries. This includes eight destinations in Mexico, the largest number of destinations served in a single country. Mexico is the largest international market in terms of passenger demand.

This new route not only connects two individual cities, but offers Denver passengers a wide range of connecting flights linking Monterrey to more than 30 key destinations to discover Mexico. It also represents more opportunities for Mexican travelers to enjoy the beauty of the Rockies, serving the leisure, VFR and business markets, thus boosting tourism and the local economy,” said Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus.

Denver’s Mexican network currently has nonstop flights to Mexico City, Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cozumel, San Jose del Cabo, Chihuahua and Guadalajara. In addition, five airlines serve the Denver-Mexico market with about 36,000 seats per week on 206 flights.

Prior to the launch of this new route, Monterrey was Denver’s largest underserved Mexican market, with nearly 15,000 annual travelers between the two cities. Denver-Monterrey demand in 2023 is 20% above pre-pandemic levels and total travel demand between Denver and Denver is 40% higher than in 2019.
