The Lufthansa Group has initiated the personnel selection process for the launch of City Airlines, the new airline set to begin operations in the summer of 2024. City Airlines is actively seeking experienced professionals, extending the invitation to both pilots and cabin crew.

According to the Lufthansa Group, the job offering encompasses competitive salaries and favorable working conditions. City Airlines is keen on hiring English-speaking pilots, aligning with its long-term personnel strategy.

For those interested in transitioning within the Lufthansa Group, offers based on voluntary relocation conditions can be negotiated, especially for employees of Lufthansa CityLine. Discussions have already commenced with partners to establish competitive and secure working conditions.

Jens Fehlinger, Director of Operations at City Airlines, expressed: “We are commencing and creating opportunities for new and experienced colleagues with attractive working conditions in Germany. Our onboard guests can expect a dedicated team and a flight experience with the renowned quality of Lufthansa during their travels with City Airlines.”

Founded in 2022, City Airlines received the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) from the German Federal Aviation Authority in June 2023. Serving short and medium-haul routes from the hubs of Munich and Frankfurt, City Airlines will also operate connecting flights for Lufthansa.

It is estimated that City Airlines will commence operations in the summer of 2024 with a fleet comprising Airbus A319 aircraft. Additionally, the Lufthansa Group is evaluating the possibility of utilizing comparable-sized aircraft, such as the Airbus A220 or Embraer E2, for City Airlines.
