LOT Polish Airlines has signed a lease agreement to acquire two Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft from Air Lease Corporation. These new additions will join the 12 aircraft already received from the American lessor and are expected to join the Polish airline’s fleet in mid-2024.

This agreement is part of LOT’s recent expansion of its destination network, as well as its established codeshare partnership with the American airline JetBlue. With the growing presence in the market, LOT is in search of two new aircraft to meet the increasing demand.

«We are pleased to continue expanding our long-term relationship with LOT through the lease of two more new 737-8 aircraft. ALC has played a significant strategic role in LOT’s fleet modernization program, as the largest lessor to LOT, and these 737-8s will further enhance the airline’s fleet and network capabilities with new, fuel-efficient narrow-body aircraft,» stated Steven F. Udvar-Házy, Executive Chairman of Air Lease Corporation.

Arrival of an A330neo

On October 27, LOT received an Airbus A330-900neo leased from Air Belgium. This aircraft operates for the Polish airline in the livery of the Belgian company and features a cabin configuration accommodating 286 passengers across three classes.

The Airbus A330neo began operations on October 29, initially serving the Warsaw-New York route. According to information from planespotters, LOT has sent two 787 Dreamliner aircraft for maintenance, one from each variant.

LOT announced in early October that its entire Boeing 787 fleet will undergo a complete passenger cabin modernization. Retrofit work started with the 787-8 fleet, and it is expected that by 2026, all Dreamliners will showcase the new interiors.
