EcuaCóndor is Ecuador’s newest startup: the airline has commenced its certification process with the National Civil Aviation Council of Ecuador – CNAC. The airline has requested permission from the Ecuadorian government to operate commercially on 13 domestic routes.
EcuaCóndor’s MHI (former Bombardier) CRJ-200 has been relocated to the city of Saltillo, Mexico, where it will undergo significant maintenance and possibly receive the airline’s branding. The small aircraft with U.S. registration N8884E took off from Kingman (IGM), Arizona, on October 28th.
EcuaCóndor has submitted an application to the CNAC to operate commercially on 13 domestic routes originating from its main base of operations and maintenance at José Olmedo Airport (GYE) in Guayaquil and from Mariscal Sucre Airport (UIO) in Quito.
