Deutsche Aircraft has signed a Letter of Intent (LoI) with an undisclosed customer, outlining the acquisition of up to four D328eco aircraft. According to the manufacturer, the buyer’s goal is to renew its aging fleet of advanced turboprop aircraft, citing the growing global demand for advanced regional aircraft.
The D328eco boasts exceptional performance capabilities, positioning itself as the preferred choice for regional operators in the turboprop segment looking to replace outdated fleets of both jet and turboprop regional aircraft. Additionally, the Short Takeoff and Landing (STOL) capability of the D328eco, coupled with its substantial reduction in CO2 compared to its competitors, enhances its overall appeal. Private Wings will be the model’s launch customer following the purchase of five units announced in May.

Anastasija Visnakova, Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Deutsche Aircraft, expressed enthusiasm for the growing interest in the model. «The aircraft’s ability to adapt to challenging environments, including short unpaved runways, positions it as a reliable, capable, and efficient solution for regional operators. Additionally, the D328eco offers economic and environmental advantages within its class. We recognize that regional connectivity serves as a lifeline for numerous communities worldwide, and Deutsche Aircraft aims to support it.»
The model is based on the Dornier 328, which made its first flight in 1991. The new aircraft will be able to operate entirely on Power-to-Liquid fuel. This Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) is a synthetic hydrocarbon produced using renewable electrical energy. The plane has a capacity for 43 passengers. It will be powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW127S engines, with a maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) of 15.6 tons.
