Kenya Airways is expanding its codeshare partnership with South African Airways to include non-stop flights from South Africa to South America. From December, passengers can now fly to Sao Paulo-Guarulhos via Johannesburg on a single ticket, thanks to the cooperation of the two airlines. This partnership strengthens connectivity in the region, offering more travel options to passengers, complementing operations from the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
The strategic partnership aims to optimise connectivity and enhance the customer experience. The alliance offers a more convenient link between Africa and South America via the Johannesburg-Sao Paulo route. In particular, this more direct service reduces the carbon footprint and contributes to sustainability.
«Customers will now enjoy an expanded strategic partnership, offering enhanced connectivity and a superior joint offering. Together, we are dedicated to providing passengers with unrivalled travel options, world-class services and expanded global reach,» said Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer, Kenya Airways.
This partnership ensures enhanced connectivity by combining the Kenya Airways and South African Airways networks with a single ticket. Customers will benefit from simplified logistics, fewer stopovers and an improved overall travel experience from Kenya to Brazil.
With this partnership, the two airlines redefine African aviation by offering customers a more direct route, unlike traditional options in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
