The Colombian subsidiary of Grupo LATAM announced on Wednesday morning, December 6, that it will operate flights from Bogotá to Madrid starting July 3, 2024.
Thus, the airline’s first operation is scheduled to take off from El Dorado airport at 10:50pm on the aforementioned July 3, arriving in the Spanish capital at 3:40pm local time.
The chosen aircraft is the Boeing 787-8 and ticket prices, according to the search performed on LATAM’s site, start at 571 dollars with the Light fare.
As we announced a week ago, the Colombian aeronautical authority gave the green light to the request made by the company to operate the route under a fifth freedom of the air agreement. In this scheme, the flight originates and concludes in Santiago (SCL), Chile, with a brief stop in Bogotá (BOG), before continuing to Madrid (MAD).

The airline thus becomes the fifth operator on the route linking the capitals of Colombia and Spain, joining Avianca, Plus Ultra, Iberia, and Air Europa.
This is a developing story.
