Westjet is launching seasonal flights to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea for the upcoming summer season, strengthening its international destination offerings and enhancing Calgary’s intercontinental connectivity. This service is the only non-stop connection between the province of Alberta and South Korea and the Canadian airline’s second Asian route.

«It is with great pleasure that WestJet will be Alberta’s only direct link to South Korea, expanding our global connectivity with the 787 from our hometown of Calgary. In addition to creating greater two-way tourism opportunities, WestJet’s service between Seoul and Calgary will increase connectivity between Western Canada and Asia, generating unique business and cargo opportunities,» said John Weatherill, WestJet’s Executive Vice President and Group Chief Commercial Officer.

In addition to its operations to South Korea, WestJet will expand its service to Tokyo-Narita from 3 to 7 flights per week and extend the service until the end of November 2024. The Canadian airline will have 4,160 weekly seats to the Pacific offering increased travel options as well as more cargo opportunities for imports and exports opening up new business opportunities for the Province of Alberta and Western Canada.
